Tar Heels Looking For Upset Vs No. 10 Hokies

BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) -- Rested and refreshed after a bye week, North Carolina quarterback Bryn Renner and the Tar Heels are determined to show that they are better than their 2-4 ACC record.

Renner figures Virginia Tech's Lane Stadium on a Thursday night against one of the teams that has dominated midweek games is a great place to show what his team can really do.

The 10th-ranked Hokies have won five straight since losing at home to No. 7 Clemson and can possibly clinch their fourth trip to the league championship game in the past five years this week.

The Hokies (9-1, 5-1) also could extend the nation's longest string of seasons with at least 10 wins to eight, and avenge a Thursday night home loss to UNC two years ago.

So, its better than no bowl at all which is what NCSU and ECU fans will get to watch, nothing. I am sure they will watch UNC while their teams figure out how to do better next year, LOL. Reminds me of the college world series...better to go than not to go, know what I mean? Of course you do. have a great day!!

And they still got shut out by the Pack! lol, you know that's five straight years TOB has owned your holes. What are you guys going to do, State may be young this year and have a tough time on the road, but they still shut out your holes, 13-0, that has to sting, ouch, lol, Carolina Way, that's funny

Matt, this is in reply to your comment below. I would rather lose to NCSU for 10 years straight and go to a bowl game each year while NCSU watches at home. Having top 5 teams in the other 2 major sports makes the rest of the year enjoyable too, well that and NOT having Mens Cheerleading as a D-1 sport. Would much rather have a D-1 Lacrosse team anyday than D-1 Mens Cheerleading. I wouldnt have even posted if you guys didnt constantly make comments (mostly false) about the "holes". Go Heels!
