Tar Heels, Demon Deacons Meet For Bowl Eligibility

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) -- Wake Forest and North Carolina meet Saturday with both teams needing a win to become bowl eligible.

The Demon Deacons (5-2, 4-1) haven't played the Tar Heels in four years due to Atlantic Coast Conference cross-divisional scheduling rotations. But if they win this one, they'll have swept the three other instate ACC schools for the third time since 2006.

The Tar Heels (5-3, 1-3) are trying to snap a two-game skid that has stalled the momentum from a fast start under interim coach Everett Withers. Last week, North Carolina gave up 35 third-quarter points and committed six turnovers in a 59-38 loss at Clemson.
