State Fair Breaking Attendance Records

People have been visiting the North Carolina State Fair in Raleigh in record numbers during the opening days of the event.

Statistics show that attendance on both Thursday and Friday was the highest ever for the state fair. There were 47,677 people at the fair on Thursday, which was opening day. On Friday, 77,485 people attended.

Saturday's attendance didn't break a record, but it did not miss by much. More than 131,000 went to the North Carolina State Fair on Saturday, which was about 7,500 people shy of the record set in 1984.

The fair runs through October 24.

fedup...your comment was absolutely uncalled for and unjustified. IF and that's a BIG IF, you have any proof that substantiates your comment, then by all means share that proof. Otherwise you would do well to keep your mouth shut and keep your level of intelligence out of the public eye. I spent some time at the Fair last weekend and it was lots of fun. There was a lot to do and see and while some prices are high for the product delivered, there are many opportunites to see, do and experience that are either free or low cost. The Fair staff has done an excellent job of making going to the Fair enjoyable and a good value!

We went on Sunday and it was crazy there. There are so many people which is to be expected but they need more open space.

We went this weekend for the first time in years. It was great. A lot of rides for all ages and food and stuff that you are not going to find anywhere else. Our family (2 adults, 2 children) spent about $120 and had a large time.

If you get a chance to go to the state fair, you ought to try the fried frito chili pie. It was off the hook. Best new thing my husband and I tried.
