RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- Joe Corvo scored two power-play goals for the struggling unit, Eric Staal had four assists and the Carolina Hurricanes scored four times in the first 7 1/2 minutes Tuesday night in a 7-1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers.

The Hurricanes forced an early change in the Edmonton net, taking a 4-0 lead against Nikolai Khabibulin on just eight shots.

Patrick Dwyer scored 26 seconds in after a rush down the ice, putting in Brandon Sutter's shot off the pads of Khabibulin and starting the onslaught. Erik Cole scored 49 seconds later on the power play.
