UPDATE: 2 Charged With Murder After Fatal Shooting Near NC State

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- Police in Raleigh have arrested two people in the shooting death of a man at an apartment complex near North Carolina State University.

Officers were called to the apartment around 12:30 a.m. Monday.

Police spokesman Jim Sughrue says the victim was 29-year-old Monkeith Alexander Tennessee and investigators don't think the shooting was a random attack.

Later Monday, police arrested 21-year-old Quamir Rogers and 27-year-old Twanisha Stewart and charged them with murder. A motive for the killing has not been released. It wasn't clear if the suspects had lawyers.

Campus police issued an alert about 30 minutes after the shooting.
