NEW INFO: Raleigh-Bound Greyhound Hijacked

Police in North Carolina have identified a Virginia man they say hijacked a Greyhound bus traveling from Richmond to Raleigh.

North Carolina Highway Patrol Sgt. Jeff Gordon says 32-year-old Jose Flores of Arlington, Va., was taken into custody late Thursday near Norlina, about 60 miles north of Raleigh.

The Warren County Sheriff's Office is handling the case. Sheriff Johnny Williams did not immediately return a phone call Friday morning, but jail officials said Flores is charged with kidnapping.

Police say Flores pulled a gun on a bus with 35 passengers and ordered the driver to relinquish the bus. Police surrounded the bus after it pulled into a gas station. Flores was arrested after he was hit with a stun gun.

No one was hurt. Police have not discussed a possible motive.

Greyhound has the official policy that they DO NOT allow people to carry lawfully-owned firearms on their buses. Not even people with Concealed Carry permits... So how's that working out for ya, Greyhound?... Yet another "Gun-Free Victim Disarmament Zone" produces a monumental FAIL...

Yeah, you're right. My mistake. I-85 passes north of Raleigh near Durham and merges with I-40 near Hillsborough, then goes to Greensboro etc. Hope I didn't confuse anybody.

He's not foreign. He's American and grew up in Arlington... no accent. His race is irrelevant. He's a man with problems. No different than any other race.

It's easy to call someone dumb because their name sounds foreign. The article says he is from Virginia. The man is crazy, but it is silly to assume racist stereotypes.

Yeah, the I-85 road is fairly new. I think they built it in 1955 or thereabouts. BTW, I feel like I HAVE BEEN high-jacked when I ride on Greyhound.

Please tell me that you are not serious in thinking that either 95 or 85 go through Raleigh. Pick up a map and you will see the only primary interstate through Raleigh is 40.
