Perdue Friend Asks Judge To Throw Out Flights Case

A friend of North Carolina Gov. Beverly Perdue has asked a judge to throw out criminal charges related to unreported flights on private planes provided to the Democratic politician.

Trawick "Buzzy" Stubbs Jr. of New Bern filed requests Wednesday seeking dismissal of charges stemming from more than $28,000 paid for chartered flights not reported as contributions by Perdue's 2008 campaign. He pleaded not guilty last week.

Stubbs' lawyer argues that Wake County is not the correct location for the case and that District Attorney Colon Willoughby does not have the proper legal authority to investigate campaign finance irregularities.

Stubbs is the former law partner of the governor's late first husband. Stubbs was indicted in November along with two former Perdue fundraisers accused of using illegal contributions.

This is what politics in N.C. is all about, kick back, corruption, and greed. Our former Gov.Easley went the same route, free plane trips then when it comes to lite some sucker takes the fall. Our Gov Dumpling knew that all these flights were illegal but she also knows that she is above all that. She comes from the ruling class and that's all she knows, she got her term and her friends have been well cared for.Time for a change in the State House, and the White House.

i personaly say lock up all of these campaign doners on both sides of the political spectrum when they have done wrong. for that is the real only way to break up the special instrest an the coporate instrest donations that have an are being allowed to take place an wrongufly so under the current citizens united law that should be repealed by the supremes immedately if not sooner to put an end once an for all to the overall corruption of both political partys in my view. there needs to be more perp walks under the laws an perhaps that would break up the overal corruption coming out of an from both partys thank you

So the governors friend does not deny that he and she did anything wrong, but that the DA does not have the right to ask. Does anyone but me see anything wrong with this.
