No. 5 Tar Heels Moving On After Duke Loss

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) -- After a shocking loss to rival Duke, fifth-ranked North Carolina is turning its attention to No. 19 Virginia and the rest of the Atlantic Coast Conference schedule.

The Tar Heels (20-4, 7-2) blew a 10-point lead in the final 2 1/2 minutes and lost on a last-play 3-pointer Wednesday night. The players had an off day Thursday, giving them time to regroup for Saturday's game against the Cavaliers.

The Tar Heels won't have freshman guard P.J. Hairston due to a sore left foot. The reserve was averaging about seven points but had struggled with his shot.

Hairston's injury prompted point guard Kendall Marshall to joke Friday that coach Roy Williams has issued a new rule for the short-handed Tar Heels: no one else is allowed to get hurt.

Duke is not a NC school, it is a satelite College for New Jersey Tech! They really should join the Big (Easy) East conference.

It is amusing to hear stereotypes spewing from someone who is trying to portray Carolina fans as ignorant and poor.Judging from your narrow minded post it is pretty clear who received the poor education.Im not sure if you realize it but you make your fellow Duke(or state) fans look asinine.

I'm not sure if you realize it "c-had", but sometimes "stereotypes" are over-generalized caricatures that can be based on some kernel of truth. I have a suggestion for you, go into your nearest Wal-Mart and do a little sociological observation. Then, in all honesty, report back here if there is not some verity in my already self-professed caricature. Thank you, highly "educated" "c-had". ps: please pick up sum Kamels and Milwaukee's Best when yur there; or are you one of dem snooty, high-falutin' wine drinkin' heelz? If so, you may then want to get sum Cheez-Whiz and Richards Wild Irish Rose.

I dont get it.Carolina and Duke are both state schools so unless you graduated from Yale or some other Ivy-Leauge school just stop your assault on the "tarheel rednecks".Its funny how some people feel the need to look down on poor or ignorant people when really you should feel compassion for them.Something is wrong with that narrow mind of yours. That being said I pull for all three of our state schools when they play(I LOVE THE ACC).I do pull for Carolina when they play the Dukies but I do not hate Duke and when the game is over I could care less as it doesnt affect my life. You must be very young and clearly have alot to learn about life.

"c-had"- glad I could get under skin! You seem to take this a little too personal for "it not affecting" you. For the record, Duke is NOT a state school, but it is within the state. I'm not real young, nor as I without insight; UNC-CHeat just deserves the scorn base on their insufferable fan base. Too many of their fan base is either elitist or the opposite... clueless, uneducated rubes who scorn other state schools though they themselves could never get admitted to these schools. Are there exceptions? Of course.
