Officials at North Carolina State University are investigating vandalism at the school's center for gay and lesbian students.
School officials say someone spray-painted threats on the door and glass-encased billboard at the center.
School spokesman Keith Nichols says no arrests have been made.
The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Center is located in a classroom and office complex that is also the temporary home of the Students Government Association and the campus bookstore while another building is renovated.
Center Director Justine Hollingshead says it appears the crime was motivated by hatred.
Nichols would not say if police are investigating the case as a hate crime.
The threats had been removed by Tuesday afternoon.
