MORRISVILLE, N.C. (AP) -- North Carolina Central football coach Henry Frazier III has been arrested on a charge of assaulting a female.
The Morrisville Police Department issued a statement Wednesday saying Frazier was arrested early Monday morning.
According to police, the second-year coach and his wife were arguing at their house when the assault took place, and Frazier left the house shortly before officers arrived.
Authorities say they found evidence of an assault, stopped his car near the house and arrested him. He was released from the Wake County Jail on Monday evening on $1,500 bond and was given a June 22 court date.
N.C. Central issued a statement saying it is aware of Frazier's arrest and that it does not condone any actions by its students or employees that violate laws.
