McAdoo Picking Up His Game For Tar Heels

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) - James Michael McAdoo has been content to see his North Carolina teammates get attention even as he's playing some of the best basketball of his career.

The 6-foot-9 junior ranks among the Atlantic Coast Conference's leaders in scoring, rebounding and shooting percentage in league games. He's also looking more assertive and at times more emotional on the court heading into Saturday's game against rival North Carolina State, helping the Tar Heels win two straight after a 1-4 ACC start.

McAdoo says his teammates are getting the ball in better positions to score, while he's been focused on staying aggressive throughout the game.

UNC coach Roy Williams says he's focused on McAdoo's shooting percentage as a sign of his efficiency. So far, McAdoo is shooting 56 percent in seven ACC games.
