Home Where Kathy Taft Fatally Attacked Being Sold

The Raleigh home were State Board of Education member Kathy Taft was fatally attacked nearly two years ago is now on the market for sale.

Taft, who lived in Greenville, was found by her sister severely beaten in the Cartier Drive home of a friend on the morning on March 6, 2009. Police later said she had also been raped.

Taft and her sister were staying in the home after she had a surgical procedure done in Raleigh.

A month after Taft's death, Raleigh police arrested Jason Williford. Authorities say the 30-year-old man lived a couple of blocks from the home.

His trial is set for March and prosecutors say they plan to seek the death penalty.
