RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- The Carolina Hurricanes promoted Ron Francis to vice president of hockey operations, made Rod Brind'Amour a full-time assistant coach and brought on ex- player Cory Stillman to fill Brind'Amour's old front-office job.
The team announced a series of moves Tuesday.
Francis, a Hall of Fame player, was an assistant coach and director of hockey operations. Brind'Amour was the development coach and a part-time assistant last season. Stillman, who retired last September, takes Brind'Amour's former position as director of forwards development.
The team also gave contract extensions to assistant Dave Lewis and director of defensemen development Glen Wesley, re-installed Greg Stefan as goalies coach, moved Tom Barrasso from assistant coach to pro scout and promoted Jason Karmanos to executive vice president and assistant general manager.
Contract terms were not disclosed.
