ECU Vs. NC State Blood Drive

The East Carolina University Student Pirate Club and the American Red Cross is hosting a big blood drive Wednesday with some bragging rights on the line. It's part of a competition with NC State leading up to Saturday's football game between the Pirates and the Wolfpack.

Both universities are hosting blood drives this week to try to collect the most amount of blood donations.

ECU's blood drive is Wednesday, October 13 from 1 p.m. - 7 p.m. in Harvey Hall located in the Murphy Center.

The Student Pirate Club says ECU crushed NCSU in the 2008 blood battle, with ECU's total of 315 pints to 93 pints.

Thank you to all who are involved. Sometimes people forget that the ECU students are a great force for good in Greenville. Thank you for standing in the long lines and for giving.

Instead of making giving Blood a competition. Why not give football game tickets to the people who give double red . I beleive you all would break the Record for giving to BOTH universities.

Michael, the state blood drive is on the state campus which is why it is an ecu vs state blood drive.....

"Contaminated blood"? It is STUPIDITY like yours that does the Red Cross a great diservice. And if you are a wuffie, you just made them look as stupid as you are.

If you actually went to NCSU, Michael, you would know that most of the time, on campus blood drives occur in the Bragaw Dorm. This is a great cause with no losers! I hope both schools raise many pints (of blood that is, the beers are for Saturday!)

Such an AWESOME idea, and STILL people find something to bicker about! Hats off to both schools for supporting such a worthy cause! Oh, and GO PIRATES!

As I've pointed out before, WRAL covers both ECU and State, as well as other schools in the area. It's because they know that fans from all schools live in the area, just as it is in Greenville. Adding one line to the article isn't too much to ask, I don't think.

Doesn't matter if it's purple blood or red blood, it can still save a life. Isn't that the point of this? With that being said, as for the game, go State. This is from a Tar Heel fan. :-)

"Biased much??" Of course we are. This is Greenville, not Raleigh. Want the news in Raleigh, read the N & O.
