Duke has canceled student tailgating activities for the Boston College game after a teenager was found unconscious last weekend.
The News & Observer of Raleigh reported that the school's vice president for student affairs e-mailed students that the tailgate had lost its value as a spirit-building activity and was becoming dangerous.
The letter did not say whether tailgating would be canceled for the season-ending home game against rival North Carolina. The school says it plans to come up with a different game-day celebration for next season.
The Duke student newspaper, The Chronicle, reported that the teenager was OK, but had been taken to an emergency room after being found unconscious in a portable toilet.
