Collaros, Cincinnati Beat NC State 44-14

CINCINNATI (AP) -- Zach Collaros scrambled for two touchdowns and threw for two more, and Cincinnati's turnover-forcing defense got three more of them Thursday night, helping the Bearcats pull away to a 44-14 victory over North Carolina State.

The Bearcats (3-1) put together one of their most complete wins in coach Butch Jones' two seasons, taking full advantage of an injury-depleted defense.

N.C. State (2-2) couldn't keep up with Collaros, who repeatedly scrambled away from pressure and made pinpoint throws on the run. He ran 13 and 10 yards for touchdowns, and hooked up with running back Isaiah Pead on a 25-yard screen pass for another score. Pead ran for 167 yards and scored twice.

The Wolfpack's Mike Glennon threw touchdown passes of 87 and 49 yards to T.J. Graham, but had two interceptions that set up early Cincinnati touchdowns.

According to the wisdom of Yow, Cincinnati won b/c they had a psychological advantage and the game meant more to them...

I sure didn't see that one coming. I bet Tom O'Brien is on the hot seat due to pushing Russell Wilson out of Raleigh. Looks like State College will be in for a bad year this year!

Yeah Sam it's too bad they aren't on the schedule this year, it wouldn't take OT to beat the wuffies this season! It's trout time Sam, pick a time and a place and we'll have to go fishing man. Hope your newborn is doing well.

Hi Sam. I predicted this would happen.I Posted this on "O'Brien returns to Cincinatti" thread on WITH website.Wait untill fla state,Clemson & Ga Tech get finish with them. O'brien & Yow are surely a losing combination. Very stupid letting Wilson Get away. This will be O'briens last year.Hopefully Yow's also.

Any conference that has a team with a name ending in "State" is a weaker conference because of that team.

TOB shouldn't have been so stubborn by letting Wilson go. All Wilson asked for (according to Wilson) was to compete for the same job he held for 3 years. Bad move by TOB. By the way, TOB will be moving late this winter.

So who do you think the next coach will be State fan?

Wow. This was bad. The score would have been at least 44-0 if not for two fluke TD passes. However TOB did the right thing not letting Russell Wilson run his program.

    ECU would have lost 64-14.

Bitter much? Stretch to make a (bad) point much? 1. ECU beat NCSU last year. 2. NCSU is 0-2 against D1A competition this year. Perhaps NCSU should consider joining the Southern Conference where they could be competitive. NCSU has now gone from (to quote NCSU fans) "on the rise" with Coach Amato to forcing him out, to new-found hope with O'Brien, to now many State fans calling for O'Briens job now. Then, you will start ALL OVER again. NCSU= no ACC football Championship in 31 years! The future is just as bleak, though you'll delude yourselves, just as always, that a new coaching hire will change your fortunes. It won't. You are stuck in mediocrity or worse. Good thing NCSU was a founding member of the ACC or they would really be desperate about now. Born with a silver spoon in their mouths and have been angry and flailing to prove their relevancy ever since.

Wonder if the ACC will kick out State after this lost and to Wake who remind me of Rutgers (why would the ACC want them?)
