RALEIGH, N.C (AP) -- Brian Gionta scored the lone goal in the shootout to lead the Montreal Canadiens to a 4-3 win over Carolina on Wednesday night to snap the Hurricanes' two-game winning streak.
Montreal rallied from a two-goal deficit after Carolina's Jiri Tlusty and Anthony Stewart scored first-period goals for the Hurricanes.
Montreal tied the game by getting a short-handed goal from Lars Eller at 9:06 of the second period and then the Canadiens tied it at 2-2 when Michael Cammalleri tipped in a pass from Josh Gorges 27 seconds into the third period.
Brandon Sutter's goal at 3:18 of the third gave Carolina a brief 3-2 lead, but Travis Moen evened the score again when picked up his 100th career point.
