Brown Has Meniscus Repaired During Surgery

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State junior guard Lorenzo Brown underwent knee surgery on Tuesday, which revealed a tear in the lateral meniscus. Team surgeon, Dr. Robert Wyker, repaired the injury.

Brown is expected to miss two to four weeks of summer workouts, but his playing status for the Wolfpack’s exhibition tour of Spain in August remains questionable.

“My understanding is that surgery went well,” said head coach Mark Gottfried. “The injury was limited to the meniscus. This is temporary setback for Lorenzo. We will be conservative with what we do with Lorenzo moving forward.”

Brown helped the Pack to a 24-13 overall record (9-7 ACC) and its first Sweet Sixteen appearance since 2005. Brown earned All-ACC third team honors last season, handed out a team high 234 assists and averaged 12.7 points per game.
