Wear Twins Leaving UNC

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) -- Twins Travis and David Wear are leaving North Carolina after one season.

Coach Roy Williams made the announcement Thursday, one day after he said their father called them and asked for a release from their scholarships.

Williams says the request "came as a complete surprise" because he met with both players in mid-April and came up with their development plans for next season.

Travis Wear averaged 3.5 points and 2.2 rebounds in 32 games and David Wear averaged 2.9 points and 2.2 rebounds in 27 games and missed the final nine games with a torn labrum in his left hip. They came to North Carolina from Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, Calif.

Maybe they just listened to all the leftist, socialist nonsense that they could stomach and decided to move back to a more conservative place, which is very telling about just how pink Chapel Hill is.
