Anti-War Activist Cindy Sheehan To Speak In NC

Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan is bringing her peace movement to North Carolina.

Sheehan will speak Tuesday at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Raleigh. The event is free, although donations are accepted.

Sheehan's 21-year-old son, Casey, was killed in April 2004 in the war in Iraq. She staged a prolonged demonstration outside then-President George W. Bush's ranch near Crawford, Texas, in 2005. She said her issues with Bush didn't end with his presidency.

Without our army, we would not have the freedom of speech, and Cindy Sheehan has taken it to a new level. The idea of Freedom of Speech was written by intelligent men in order to give all men equal rights and the right to object like a civilized society, not an uneducated mother with a loudspeaker that wont even give support to her own dead son. Im glad she likes the spotlight so much. She is so against war, but in a sense, shes trying to start one. What shes really in it for is the money and fame. She is not a "true American" and neither are you if you believe any of the junk that comes out of this lady's mouth. Have her and the rest of her low-class posse nothing better to do? If you are against the war that is fine, but it is just flat out disgraceful and unamerican to not support our troops. They didn't make the choice to go over there, when ironically her son did, but rather they were given orders and they followed them. She should be given the order not to speak anymore.

This woman is a true American and makes her country proud. On the other hand, people who use war as the answer to all our problems (like Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld/Republicans) are enemies and anti-patriots of our good country. Jesus said Blessed are the peacemakers. I agree. It's time for the war-lovers to get out of America.

Well, she must be into self abuse to come here. I mean look at the comments on this board. Shouldn't we all kinda be "anti-war"? I mean who is "pro-war"? Seems like a reasonable position to me. Nobody likes dead kids, especially their own. I guess it just bothers some people less than others.

It seems as tome that she is totally disrespecting her son. He went off to fight for his country because that is what he chose to do and that is what he wanted to do. Nobody made him. And for her to go around griping about war and whatever else her psycho self is doing seems to mock his death and show him no respect. She should be proud of her son and thankful for the others who volunteer to fight for our country and die for our country so that she can have the right to open her mouth and say what she thinks. She is such a moron anyway. She is an attention getter, that is all she wants. She is a clueless woman. And a sorry excuse for an american. nobody likes the war and nobody likes losing their loved ones, but sometimes it has to be done. She should go live in Iraq or afghanistan and see if it is better for her over there, since all she can do is complain over here.

To Mark, You have a good idea, but are you willing to change your God. I didn't think so. Every other relegion isn't either. That's the problem and always will be. So we will just keep on killing those who don't believe how we believe.

How Many More Americans Must Be Killed? Monday - 14 Americans killed in Afghanistan Tuesday - 8 Americans already Killed I know Obama is very busy, what between the parties, the dinners, the golf games, shooting hoops with the boys, winning Nobel Prizes for nothing, and jetting all over the world. Come on Obama, Man Up and make a freaking decision on Afghanistan! American blood is hemorrhaging over there day after day the body count is climbing! Do something! Anything! Fight the war or get out! Your indecision borders on complete incompetence at best. I'll have to e mail Glenn Beck and see if he can start running a KIA score card on his show. So far Oct. 2009 is the deadliest month yet for our boys and girls serving in Afghanistan. Obama ran out of American tax payer money to help our troops overseas, and China won't led him anymore till he starts paying our credit card bill to them. You nuts voted him in office suck it up people. Johnney is not marching home soon

The only way Peace will ever even reach us is through God. Each of us is responsible for that, getting down on our knee's and praying. Storms, wars, and everything else can be right out our door but unless we have inner peace nothing will change.
