Former North Carolina Gov. Mike Easley is among more than 25 current and former state officials, Democratic Party leaders and others subpoenaed by the State Board of Elections for next week's hearing on Easley's campaign and party finances.
The elections board Friday released the names of people called to testify at the board hearing which starts Monday in Raleigh. More names are expected.
Easley's subpoena isn't surprising. Board chairman Larry Leake said earlier Friday the former two-term governor would be a witness.
Also called to testify are Board of Transportation member Lanny Wilson, ex-board member Cameron McRae and developer Gary Allen. Both Allen and Wilson were involved in a coastal development where Easley and his wife bought land.
