Nashville Native Named New Highway Patrol Commander

There will soon be a new leader for the Highway Patrol.

Governor Perdue announced today that Lt. Col. Randy Glover will become commander on August 1st. Glover, a Nashville native replaced Tarboro native Col. Walter Wilson, who is retiring.

Glover began with the Highway Patrol in 1980 and was first assigned to Harnett County.

"Lt. Col. Glover has demonstrated exceptional leadership throughout his career with the Patrol," said Gov. Perdue. "I am confident that he will serve this state and the more than 2,300 Highway Patrol employees with honor and distinction."
