Nashville Native Named New Highway Patrol Commander

There will soon be a new leader for the Highway Patrol.

Governor Perdue announced today that Lt. Col. Randy Glover will become commander on August 1st. Glover, a Nashville native replaced Tarboro native Col. Walter Wilson, who is retiring.

Glover began with the Highway Patrol in 1980 and was first assigned to Harnett County.

"Lt. Col. Glover has demonstrated exceptional leadership throughout his career with the Patrol," said Gov. Perdue. "I am confident that he will serve this state and the more than 2,300 Highway Patrol employees with honor and distinction."

Typical Bev BS. Look at her lesbian buddy Jeannie Lancaster and the job she CREATED for her. Chief Operating Officer for the DOC. A made up position when Bev took office. Enjoy your four years. That will be all.

Perdue wanted her man in there. "Dandy Randy" had always been promised the job if she won...ask around.

This was in no way a voluntary resignation. Perdue wanted her person, good or bad, in that job and that's what she got.

Congratulations on your promotion. The Governor made a wise choice to a very dedicated and deserving person.

Wilson is out because he alienates those around him. The people under him don't trust him and he has proven he will cast aside those that oppose him. He wants to be the supreme ruler of the patrol; the know all, see all, be all of patrol land. Intelligent, yes, but not a shred of common sense. He isn't looking out for the best interest of the patrol or its members, but his own. So quit crying, he did it to himself!

Don't cry for Wilson, he will be sitting very pretty. Wilson and Glover are both stand-up men. Good one going out and going in.

Congratgulations to Randy Glover for receiving the highest honor in the highway patrol! Best of luck to him in doing everything it takes to keep NC's roads safe! This is a very tough job to do I would expect.

The only reason Wilson is retiring, is because he was forced to so that Perdue could appoint her pal. I know the Wilson family and this is a fact. More politics as usual.
