The woman who falsely accused Duke University lacrosse players of rape has been taken back to jail, accused of violating a release agreement.
Multiple media outlets reported Thursday that Crystal Gail Mangum was taken into custody after court officials accused her of violating visitation hours with her children.
Mangum is charged with arson, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and resisting police for a domestic violence call at the home she shared with her then-boyfriend in Durham in February.
In 2006, Mangum told police she was attacked at a Duke lacrosse team party where she was hired to perform as a stripper. The state attorney general's office later concluded there was no credible evidence an attack ever occurred.
