Perdue Campaign Fined For Flight Reporting Errors

Gov. Beverly Perdue's campaign has been fined $30,000 by the North Carolina State Board of Elections for errors stemming from its failure to report more than 40 private air flight going back several years.

The board voted 4-1 in favor of the penalties. The two Republican members of the board tried unsuccessfully to raise the penalty to $75,000 or call for a larger investigation of Perdue's campaign through a public hearing.

Perdue campaign spokesman Marc Farinella called the fine a reasonable outcome to a board review of the flights. State GOP Chairman Tom Fetzer said the decision was a whitewash of Perdue campaign activities.

It is true I guess, she is changing the state motto from first in flight, to first in free flight. I really thought it was unimportant your party affiliation. But this takes the cake, because of this I will never consider a democrat again for public office until they can show more honesty and character. The election board fined mike easly 100,000 dollars knowing their was no money there. 30,000 to perdue is pocket change, her vacation cost more than that. I am sure there may be some good democrats, but she has showed that she is a crook again.

To say Perdue has total control or her affairs in and out off office(not likely)...Give her a lie detector test and I'll bet that $30,000.00...jumps to $30,000,000.00...Plus jail time.

Does this mean she will help herself to another percentage of teachers and state employees salaries again? It seems like that is the only way she knows to come up with revenue...

How is it an error if you don't list it, sounds like it was overlooked on purpose. Sounds like we have another liar in the Governors mansion. NC needs to wake up...
