Two people are under arrest for suspected break-ins in Greenville. David Green, 35 and 63-year-old Melvin Corey, both of Greenville are facing charges today after a break-in at the Tan-N-Bed tanning salon at 2803 S. Evans St.
Police investigated the break-in at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. Missing from the business was a 32-inch flat screen TV. Officers also found whoever broke into the tanning salon cut themselves on a broken window.
Greenville Police Officer A.E. Santamaria stopped a car that was leaving the parking lot and questioned Melvin Corey. Police say he did not have the stolen TV and he was not bleeding, so the officers let him go. However, they say they kept him under surveillance. Police say Corey was seen driving to the area of Clifton St. and Arlington Blvd., where he picked up David Green. Police pulled Corey over again, and found Green had the injuries consistent with being cut by glass during the break-in.
Green is charged with Felony Breaking & Entering, and Larceny after Breaking & Entering. Corey was charged with one count of Felony Breaking & Entering.
The stolen TV has not been recovered.
