Vidant Medical Center is hoping to pad its resume with a prestigious designation.
The hospital system says it has applied to the American Nurses Credentialing Center for its Magnet designation. Vidant applied in October of last year and has learned four appraisers will be visiting in May. Having the Magnet label recognizes excellence in nursing services including patient care, and professional practice. US News And World Report magazine uses the designation as an indicator to rank and report the best medical centers across the country.
