Three men are now behind bars after lawmen say they pulled the men over and the trio just could not get their story straight.
Deputies in Pitt County said just after midnight Wednesday, they pulled over a truck towing a Bobcat tractor along North Memorial Drive.
Detectives say the driver, Arlester Hart, said he and the two men with him were off to a job site.
When questioned, deputies said Hart could not tell them the name of the construction company he was working with or specify where he was going.
Detective said the story did not seem to add up and more questions lead to enough confusion that Hart apparently did not know if he was going to Wilson or Wilmington.
When questioned separately, deputies said Early London and Danny Hill were stumbling over different accounts as well.
Investigators then found the tractor the three men were towing was reported stolen from a work site in Kinston.
All three are now facing felony charges. Each man's bond was set at $22,000.
Deputies said Kinston Police may also file charges against the men.
