A traffic alert is in effect for Pitt County about a bridge replacement project that starts Monday and will last about three months.
The work is being done just west of Greenville. Crews will start replacing a bridge on Stantonsburg Road Monday over Old Woman Branch. Drivers will follow a detour from Wesley Church Road to N.C. 121 to Kittrell Hill Road before returning to Stantonsburg Road.
Officials say the work is scheduled to be complete by August 29.
