Warner Robins, Georgia -- The Greenville Little League team lost to Goodletsville, Tennessee 9-3 in the semifinals of the Southeast Regional Tournament. The loss ends the season for Greenville.
After falling behind 5-0 early Greenville closed the gap in the top of the 4th inning when Kenneth Simmons hit a two run home run over the fence in the right field.
Greenville trailed 9-2 going into the final inning of play when Holton Ahlers, who currently holds the Greenville Little league single-season record for home runs, hit a solo home run to right center field. It was Ahlers' third home run of the tournament. Greenville's bid for a comeback victory fell short.
Tennessee advances to the Southeast Regional finals, one win away from claiming a spot in the Little league World Series.
