Therapy Dogs Help Alleviate ECU Students' Finals Stress

East Carolina University students are taking final exams, and some dogs are helping students deal with their stress. Therapy dogs have been visiting ECU, to help take the edge off for the students. Dublin the golden retriever and Yazzy the doberman are therapy dogs that visited ECU's Joyner Library Tuesday afternoon. Student Kelsey Wenzel was among those grateful for the 4-legged friendliness.

"It's a pretty great surprise. I know for myself I am missing my dogs at home, and this week has been really stressful with finals and everything. So it is an awesome way to kind of get rid if a little stress and forget about the test that we are about to take," said Wenzel.

The dogs and their owners are part of "Pet Partners," an organization that brings therapy animals into schools, hospitals, and other high- stress environments.
