While ECU's football team prepares to take on South Carolina Saturday afternoon, some local sports bars here are gearing up for a big turnout.
Pirate's Den in downtown Greenville is one of several places clearing things out to make room for pirate fans. Employees say last week the place was packed for the Appalachian State game, and they're certainly glad that football season is underway.
"Oh it's electric around here. As many other businesses, it's a big part of the season for us. It's what we thrive on. We're a sports bar and grill, so we try to push any sporting event. We'd like to have it," said Pirate's Den Kitchen Manager Brett Davenport
Davenport says they are taking numerous measures to prepare for the game including over-staffing and over-stocking on food and drinks.
