Pitt County Sheriff Neil Elks and Greenville Police Chief Hassan Aden faced off in a golf cart race and dozens of golfers took a swing at raising money to fight crime Thursday at the Pitt- Greenville Crimestoppers annual fundraiser golf tournament at the Greenville Country Club.
A law enforcement officers' tournament was held in the morning followed by business teams competing in the afternoon.
The highlight for many was the golf-cart race. The sheriff took the victory, but it was a big success for all local law enforcement.
The Crimestoppers coordinator says about 95% of the annual Crimestoppers budget comes from the tournament.
