Current & Former ECU Students Nabbed In Undercover Drug Operation

Current and former ECU students are among seven people arrested after a six month investigation into the sale and possession of psychotic drugs near the university's campus.

Pitt County Alcoholic Beverage Control investigators and State Alcohol Law Enforcement agents and say they seized large quantities of Adderall, Oxycodone, MDMA and marijuana. They also seized glass pipes, water bonds and grinders, as well as materials used for indoor pot growing operations.

Agents say several undercover drug purchases occurred near a park owned by the university. Investigators say their investigation centered on the sale of narcotics and prescription medication by college students to other students.

Those arrested were:

Dillon Sivulka, 19, of Greenville, was charged with five counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver MDMA, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, five counts of maintaining a dwelling for drug activity and five counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Sivulka's secured bond was set at $500,000.

Andrew Everhart, 24, of Greenville, was charged with three counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver Adderall, three counts of maintaining a dwelling for drug activity and possession of drug paraphernalia. His secured bond was set at $50,000.

Hunter Nethercutt, 21, of Greenville, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a park, possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of being over the lawful age, aid and abet an underage person in consumption of an alcoholic beverage. Nethercutt's secured bond was set at $35,000.

Douglas Clark III, 20, of Greenville, was charged with three counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a dwelling for drug activity, and misdemeanor possession of Oxycodone. His secured bond was set at $50,000.

Mario Girau, 19, of Greenville, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and maintaining a dwelling for drug activity. Girau's secured bond was set at $35,000.

Joseph Coppersmith, 22, of Greenville, was charged with two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, two counts of maintaining a dwelling for drug activity, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of sell and deliver controlled substances within 1,000 feet of a park. Coppersmith's unsecured bond was set at $100,000.

William Garner, 20, of Greenville, was charged with two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, two counts of maintain a dwelling for drug activity and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. His secured bond was set at $10,000.

ECU says Garner, Girau and Nethercutt are current students, while Sivulka, Everhart and Coppersmith are former students.

Agents say more arrests are pending.
