A mother from Pitt County is going to prison for the death of her baby.
Thirty-year-old Sandy Etheridge was charged in 2010 for the death of her 10-week-old son, Dakota. Records show she was convicted on June 25 and sentenced to seven years and eight months in prison.
Deputies said that Etheridge shook her baby so violently, he was brain damaged. He later died at the hospital.
