After last week's rainfall flooded several roads- some are wondering if they should prepare for more detours with Tropical Depression Beryl poised to bring more rain to the east Wednesday.
Many roads in Pitt county closed because of flooding last week. Tuesday, emergency managers discussed how to prepare emergency crews and drivers for the next heavy rainfall.
Emergency managers say the ground is saturated which is why they expect the same roads that flooded during last week's 6 inches of rain to flood again this week and possibly stay closed longer than just a day.
"We got a lot of rain in a very short period of time. You don't normally get that kind of rainfall, but when it does happen you can expect those floods. Again, it will be normally the same spots," said Pitt County Emergency Director Noel Lee.
City of Greenville leaders also met Tuesday afternoon to discuss how they can better inform residents on flooded roads.
