Pitt Co. Red Cross Gets Donation For Storm Help

The Red Cross got a helping hand Thursday as it works to offer assistance to those affected by Sunday's storms.

The United Way of Pitt County donated $20,000 to the Red Cross's Pitt County chapter.

The Red Cross has been offering financial assistance to cover the costs of everything from food and clothing to relocation expenses for those who lost their homes.

As the week wore on, Red Cross workers say the number of people in need continued to rise.

Red Cross volunteers say they depend entirely on donations like this one to make disaster assistance available.
