Pitt Deputies: Meeting Set Up On Craigslist Leads To Assault & Arrests

The Pitt County Sheriff's Office says four people have been arrested after a man was assaulted, tied-up, and robbed inside his home after arranging to meet someone he met on Craigslist.

Deputies say they got the call to the home on Bruce Strickland Road in Bell Arthur in Pitt County around 10:00 p.m. Sunday, December 29th.

They say the homeowner, 53-year-old Grant Beacom, was hit over the head with the butt of a gun by two people while a third person stayed in the car.

Investigators say the two suspects then stole his wallet, a cell phone, flat screen TV and a gun.

Deputies say Grant had placed an ad on Craigslist and had several email communications from a female using the name Alexis Bryant. They set up a time to meet at the victim's residence.

Authorities say the female had one other female and one male ride with her to his house. Once she was inside the house for a while, they say the other two ran in with a shotgun and what appeared to be a handgun.

Wednesday the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force located all three suspects in Sharpsburg, NC and were transported back to Pitt County.

Jemond Dickens, 26-years-old from Tarboro, 21-year-old Brittany Staton of Pinetops, and 22-year-old Anastaasia El-Amin of Rocky Mount are all charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and inflict serious injury, 1st degree burglary, and 1st degree kidnapping.

Krystle Bell, 25-years-old from Pinetops, is charged with accessory after the fact to all of the charges above.

Beacom was treated and released from Vidant Medical Center.
