The Pitt County Sheriff's Office began its online gun permit program Tuesday.
The sheriff's office says the program will help streamline the process and reduce the wait time for citizens of Pitt County.
All the same rules apply online as they do with paper applications.
You must be 21-years or older and have been a resident of Pitt County for the last 30 days.
If your application is approved, you must present, in person, a valid North Carolina drivers license or military I.D. with a correct address in Pitt County.
