Law enforcement leaders from across Pitt County gathered Friday to renew their commitment to serving victims of violence.
Police chiefs from eight cities in Pitt County, along with the sheriff, attended a ceremony at the Pitt County Courthouse in Greenville.
Christy Adams told the heart wrenching story of her child's death. Her three-year-old son was a victim of a murder-suicide in 2012.
Officials say these ceremonies are necessary to stay focused on victims and to keep violence prevention in the conversation.
The ceremony is held every year and serves to honor victims of violence.
