Pigskin Pig-Out Cookoff

40 teams of pig cookers and station decorators fired up their smokers at Dowdy Ficklen Stadium Friday and sported as much ECU Pirate gear as they could find.

The 31st annual pigskin pig out kicked off at 5 o'clock on the eve of ECU's spring football game Saturday.

Some of those taking part told us it's about having fun and giving back to the school by helping to raise money for scholarships.

The teams are cooking their 150 pounds of pig throughout the night.

Starting at 11 a.m. Saturday fans can buy barbecue plates for $8.00

Kickoff for ECU's spring game is scheduled for 2:30 Saturday afternoon .
