Police are warning young women who visit downtown Greenville of a man who is preying on intoxicated college-aged women and sexually assaulting them.
There have been at least two cases since March where the victims met a man who offered to get them home safely. One of the women was attacked in her home, the other behind a building on East 4th Street.
In both cases the women describe their attacker as a black man with dreadlocks and very neatly dressed. Police say there may have been other sexual assaults by this man which have gone unreported.
Police warn people against at-risk behaviors such as binge drinking, and against walking home alone after drinking.
