NEW INFO: Police Identify Sears Theft Suspect

Police said they put a face caught on surveillance cameras to a name, and now need help to find the man.

Greenville Police said the man caught on Sears store surveillance cameras multiple times has been identified at 34-year-old Dennis Whitley of Kinston.

Police said Whitley has prior arrests for burglary, larceny, and other similar crimes around Eastern Carolina.

Now Greenville Police have added four counts of misdemeanor larceny to Whitley's outstanding warrant list.

Police are asking for the public's help to find their suspect, described as a white man who stands about 5'9" tall. He weighs about 200 lbs, has strawberry-blonde hair, and a goatee beard. Police said he has two tattoos: one on his right arm of a tribal band wit ha cross, and the other on his left arm, with the initials DKW.

Greenville said on Wednesday that a man has stolen from one local department store three times, but now they have caught him on camera.

Greenville Police are asking for help identifying the man caught on Sears store surveillance on Sunday, March 10th.

Police said the man took a 40” Samsung flat-screen television, and loaded it into a waiting white, GMC Sierra pickup truck with a duct tape covered license plate.

Police said a woman was driving the get away truck.

Investigators said the same man has stolen from the Sears store three times, including the most recent event.
