On Friday morning, ECU Police confirmed they had arrested two East Carolina University students: one for selling marijuana out of his on-campus dorm room, and the other for having marijuana.

Police said they were called to a room in the College Hill Suites around 12:26 Friday morning. Police said they got consent to search the room, where they found 65 grams of marijuana, $3,870 in cash, and drug paraphernalia.

ECU Police subsequently charged both roommates living in that dorm room.

21-year-old Alexander Hinger was charged with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and maintaining a dwelling for marijuana. He was arrested and placed under a $25,000 secured bond at the Pitt County Detention Center.

The suspect's roommate, Thomas Appleman, was also arrested. Appleman was charged with simple possession of marijuana, and his bond set at $1,000.

ECU Police noted both students were cooperative with investigators.
