After a brief vehicle and foot chase, police say they nabbed two validated gang members who are suspected drug dealers.
The Greenville Drug Taskforce says it arrested Alex Stancil and Cecil Gilbert late Wednesday night.
Police say both men have lengthy and violent criminal histories, including attempted murder, robbery and drug counts.
Stancil, who was driving the vehicle, was charged with one count of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, one count of maintaining a vehicle for sell of narcotics, one count of possession of marijuana, felony flee to elude arrest, and 15 additional traffic charges. He is being held in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $250,000 secured bond.
Gilbert, who was a passenger, was charged with one count of trafficking cocaine, four counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, four counts of maintaining a vehicle for sale of narcotics, four counts of drug paraphernalia, and one count of possession of marijuana. He is being held at in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $1,000,000 secured bond.
