A highway in Pitt County is closed in both directions after a cement truck overturned this morning.
Davenport Farm Road, near the Highway 13 intersection was shut down by the 9:10 a.m. crash.
The driver of the cement truck, which is owned by W.T. Wooten, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Troopers say the truck driver tried to avoid a car in his lane, and when the weight in the truck shifted and overturned. The truck was full of concrete and was headed to a job site.
The highway will be closed down for several hours.
Troopers say there will be no charges against the truck driver and they estimate damage at $20,000.
