BBfan, you need to get your facts right, theses kids came from public schools. They had to have the grades just to be allowed to enter. You are a sorry person to talk about kids that way. Get a life.

You may want to give some credit to his friend the recruiting cordinator. This school is also allowed to reclassify kids and have them repeat grades.

If it's allowed by the rules, what's the problem? John Wall was 19 as a senior in high school...

That was also at another NC independent school. Many of these kids would be ineligble at NC public schools. John Wall went to like 4 schools in 3 years. He played 2 junior or senior seasons.

I would like to respond to the negativity that seems to be coming towards the Oakwood School Basketball Players. My son came to Oakwood when he was in the 8th grade. He started Varsity that same year. His academics in public school were very good. HIs academics is even better since he has been at the Oakwood School. Its amazing how when Oakwood Basketball Team wasn't winning the HATERS WERE IN HIDING, YOU KNOW THE STORY. Oakwood keep doing your thing "God has Got all the Oakwood Players" No weapon formed against me shall prosper. And, by the way my son is James Demery #25 the most humble and respectable kid you would ever meet. CONGRATS TO THE OAKWOOD BASKETBALL TEAM FOR WINNNG THE CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME AND FOR JAMES DEMERY ON GETTING THE MVP OF THE GAME ON HIS BIRTHDAY IT DON'T GET KNOW SWEETER. WE WILL CONTINUE TO ENJOY THIS MAGIC CARPET RIDE. LET'S GO EAGLES!!!!!! HATERS NOTHING BUT LOVE FOR YOU......

It has been a pleasure to watch the Oakwood athletics program grow from a fledgling new program to one that "ATTRACTS" (does not recruit) strong athletes who want to play at a school where academics come first. Jay Demery is a future star. Not only does he have natural talent but is remarkably polite, humble and always in control. He is a born leader and superstar!

Steve Branch is building a dynasty there at Oakwood. Great school, great basketball team.
