UPDATE: Greenville Murder Suspects Not Attending Hearing

Two murder suspects in a double murder in Greenville had a scheduled court appearance Thursday, but officials say they won't actually appear.

Montrell Washington of Washington and and Kuante Stanley of Belhaven are both charged with two counts of first degree murder, robbery and related charges in connection to the March 23 shooting deaths of 29-year-old Shakeyta Woolard of Greenville and 27-year-old Keri Kenlaw of Washington. They were found in their Academy Drive home which had been ransacked.

Officials say the case is on the docket for today, but it will only be involving paperwork and could be continued altogether.

The two suspects have remained behind bars since their arrest in early April.

Montrell Washington of Washington and and Kuante Stanley of Belhaven are both charged with two counts of first degree murder, robbery and related charges in connection to the shooting deaths March 23rd of 29-year-old Shakeyta Woolard of Greenville and 27-year-old Keri Kenlaw of Washington. They were found in their Academy Drive home which had been ransacked.

Police have said the crime is drug related. Their next court date is April 19th.

Greenville police say two Beaufort County men have been charged with last month's double homicide on Academy Drive.

Kuante Stanley of Belhaven and Montrell Washington of Washington are both charged with two counts of murder, armed robbery and kidnapping.

29-year-old Shakeyta Woolard of Greenville and 27 year old Keri Kenlaw of Washington were found in their Academy Drive Home shot to death and their home ransacked. It took investigators a week to process that crime scene and police have said the crime is drug related.

The 27-year-old Stanley was arrested Wednesday morning, while Washington, who is 20 years old, was nabbed around 3:15 p.m.Wednesday in a room at the Baymont Inn & Suites on South Memorial Drive. After police negotiators contacted Washington, they say he surrendered without incident.

Both men are being held without bond.

Records show that Washington has a lengthy record for drug convictions and that he last got out of prison in January, while Stanley has a record for two drug convictions from Beaufort County.
