Summer is less than a month away with the official start June 21st, but we're just now starting to really warm up in eastern Carolina. Meteorologists say this has a been an atypical spring in the east.
Parents at elm street park in Greenville took advantage of the warmer temperatures Thursday. This time two years ago, Greenville broke a record hitting the 100 degree mark. We spoke to Missy Stone who says it's nice to be outside, but she remembers to be careful in extreme heat.
"I always get a little worried when it gets too hot, hence you have to be more careful with the sun and sunburns and things like that, there's always ways to keep cool."
