Man Charged After Two People Shot In Pitt County

A man is in jail after deputies say he shot two people last night in Pitt County.

Jimmy Dixon, Jr. of Greenville is charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, possession of a firearm by a felon and larceny of a motor vehicle.

Deputies say they believe the shooting is drug related. They got a call last night around 9:45 p.m. from Vidant Medical Center that two people came in who had been shot.

They learned the two victims in sitting in a car with Dixon at the New York Grocery on Old River Road. The victims told investigators that Dixon pulled a handgun and started shooting.

Dixon is jailed on a $300,000 bond.
