Three Greenville Men, One From Hamilton Charged In Fida Mart Shooting

Four men have been charged with shooting up a Martin County convenience store earlier this summer.

Deputies say Jerrell Jenkins of Hamilton, Tyquail Matthews, Charles Highsmith Dequillon Smith, all of Greenville, have been charged with attempted armed robbery and four counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. Bonds for the men range from $5,000,000 to $500,000.

Two men armed with handguns stormed into the Fida Mart in Hamilton on June 27th and started firing their weapons. No one was hit by the gunfire.

Deputies released surveillance video from the shooting and say through the investigation several suspects were identified.

We're gathering more information on a man who is now behind bars under a $600,000 bond, facing multiple charges including four counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

Dequillion Smith, age 22 of Whichard Road in Greenville, was locked up in the Pitt County Detention Center Monday.

Online court records show Smith is due in court in Greenville this morning on a robbery with a dangerous weapon charge, then he's scheduled to appear in Martin County tomorrow on the assault charges.
